How Our Process Works

All items listed by Drop It Off will be provided with the following services:

A very detailed description of your item will be written up to ensure the listing includes all important information on your item
Your items will be carefully described on eBay to ensure they reach their target audience
We research the item on eBay and the manufacturers website if possible and take into consideration all the information you provide
If you have any special requests for your auction, let us know! We can always tailor auctions to suit special items.
Multiple high quality digital photographs will be taken of your item from different angles and a Gallery picture will be listed to make your auction stand out
We will answer any and all questions asked about your item from all perspective bidders
We can email you a link to the auction so you can watch it as it gets bid up
Payment will be processed and handled by us to ensure you receive your money in a timely fashion
You will get a detailed invoice with the eBay item number so you can go to the auction and check for yourself
A check for the final sales price minus our commission will be mailed to you, or you can pick it up at our location

For these services, our fee structure is:

30% if the sale price is between $0 - $499.99
25% of the next $500 - $999.99
20% of the final $1,000+
We pay for all PayPal and eBay fees

Drop It Off, LLC charges a minimum of $4.99 for each item that sells, so it is in your best interest to sell items that are worth more than $50.

Don’t worry about all the eBay progressive final value fees, eBay initial listing fees, or PayPal transaction fees! We pay for all of that. We pay for all those fees so you have an easy to understand commission schedule.

Beware, many eBay sellers charge you for those final value fees, insertion fees, and PayPal fees IN ADDITION to their final value commissions!!

Please keep in mind that if your item does not sell, you will be contacted and it can be returned to you if you agree to pay the return shipping charges or pick it up at our Houston store. Otherwise we will be glad to donate the items to Goodwill.

Also, we do accept returns on items, but only if the item differs from the description. In this instance, it will have no affect on your account.

The Drop It Off Process:

Step 1: Drop off your item at Drop It Off Click here to see our store location.
Step 2: Give us a brief description about your item. Our experienced staff will enter your item into our system and may ask you to help with any key points about the item that you'd like to put in the eBay listing. After that, you'll receive a invoice for your item and then it will move back to photography and auction listing! You can watch your item be auctioned off on the current auctions link on junkintheattic.com.
Step 3: We sell your item on eBay for you. Once we receive your item, we will write up a description that describes the item in great detail, take high-quality digital photographs of it, then create a listing on eBay for your item. Once the auction has ended, we will take care of all payment processing and shipping of the item (and returns if necessary).
Step 4: We send you a check in the mail. Drop It Off will send you a check in the mail between 10 - 20 days after your auction has ended. The amount of the check will be the selling amount minus all fees.

Drop It Off, LLC is a Houston based eBay seller that allows you to bring items you would like sold on eBay to us to sell! We started selling on eBay almost six years ago and started offering our services to you over two years ago. Drop your items at our location in Houston and we professionally research, list, photograph, and sell your stuff. After everything is sold, we send you a check!

What is the benefit to me as a customer?

As a customer of Drop It Off, you can easily sell your stuff on eBay! To sell on eBay you must have a sellers account as well as a Paypal account in addition to having to watch the auction for a whole week. Don’t worry about what the title should be, uploading pictures, shipping to multiple winners, or the hassle of Paypal.

Drop It Off has a great reputation as a seller on eBay! We have over 99% positive feedback from those that have bought from us in the past. New bidders will be more trusting of our descriptions and pictures. This will translate into a higher selling price that most ebayers can achieve.

What type of items can I sell with Drop It Off?

We will accept many different items ranging from sporting goods to electronics to collectibles. The only stipulations we have are that the item must be worth at least $50 on eBay (please call us to see what your item is selling for if possible). Your item must also be within eBay's legal limits, be shippable via UPS, and weigh less than 70 lbs. Many items fit these loose requirements, but if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. We do not sell large items such as furniture.

What if my item is not on your list?

The different types of items we sell is almost endless! Just give us a call and we'll let you know if we are able to list it for you.
How long will my auction last on eBay?

Once you take your items to Drop It Off, it will take one to three days for the item to be listed, depending on current volume. We might also wait to list on a certain day to ensure your listing gets seen by the largest amount of people. Auction will run for seven days, but we can change the auction length to accomidate your needs. The winning bidder has up to seven days to pay for the auction. Once the item is paid for we offer our winning bidders a three-day return policy if the item is not as described. Once that time period has lapsed, or they have left an early positive feedback, we send you a check. The whole process can take anywhere from two to four weeks.

Why does my item have to be worth more than $50?

Our minimum service fee is $4.99, it is in your best interest to list items with a value greater than $50. Plus we like to sell only the best items to our customers in order to be known as a top quality seller on eBay.

Why does my auction listing have to start at $9.99?

We can start your auction at any price, but we want all of our auctions to attract as much interest and bidders as possible. Low starting prices in our experience allow multiple bidders into the auction process and result in higher sale prices. Although your item may sell for less than you value it, Drop It Off, LLC is legally bound to accept the highest bid, and so we list the items in a way we strive to get the most amount of money for you.

What happens if my item doesn't sell?

If your item does not sell during the auction, Drop It Off, LLC will return the item to you if you agree to pay the appropriate fees which is $4.99 per item. If you do not wish to pick up your item, we will be happy to take it to Goodwill on your behalf.

What if my item doesn't sell for $50 or more?

Drop It Off, LLC is legally bound to sell any item for the final price even if you think your item is worth more. If your item does not reach $50, Drop It Off, LLC charges a minimum of $4.99 fee for each auction. It is in both of our best interests to have listings end with a high sale price, so we will do everything we can to see that this happens.

Why does Drop It Off, LLC not sell all types of items?

Based on eBay policy and our own, Drop It Off, LLC will not list hazardous items, sexually explicit material, illegal or counterfeit products, and any other item listed in eBay's prohibited items list. Also, we have chosen items that will hopefully give the best returns for you as a customer and can be easily shipped. Drop It Off, LLC' fees are based on the item's final sale price:
- 30% for the first $0 - $499.99, then
- 25% for $500 - $999.99, then
